Doubling SEO Traffic with Content Marketing
Organic traffic growth to your website starts by increasing keyword rankings.
This is much easier said than done. Here is the recipe I used:
Step 1
Define company messaging and positioning (AKA: Answer the question, “What do we want to be famous for?”).
Step 2
Use the output from Step 1 to identify what the ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) will be searching for. What are the ICPs primary pain points and goals?
Step 3
Use an SEO tool (for me, this was SEMRush) to identify content gaps and opportunities around key content topics that are important to the ICP.
Step 4
Start creating content around those topics, focusing on keywords that will be relevant to your core services and offerings.
The results of implementing this strategy in 2024 are shown below.
Total number of keywords ranking increased by 2x over a 6-month period.
Keywords ranking on Google Page 1 (including SERP features) increased by 2x over a 10-month period.
